Commercial Plastering Supervisor – Sunshine Coast

Siteforce Recruitment is seeking an experienced Commercial Plastering Supervisor to manage the on-site delivery of commercial ceilings, partitions, plastering and fitout packages on the Sunshine Coast.

This is a senior, hands-on position responsible for project delivery, programming, subcontractor management, quality and cost control. The role is available on either a permanent full time or casual contract basis.

Key Responsibilities
Project Delivery and Programming

- Manage the day-to-day delivery of assigned commercial packages
- Set out wall and ceiling framing from architectural and engineering drawings
- Confirm lines, levels and set-outs before work proceeds
- Work closely with the builder’s current program and lookahead schedules
- Coordinate labour, subcontractors, materials, deliveries and site access
- Organise hoisting, cranage and material handling across multiple levels
- Identify variations, design issues and potential delays before they affect the program
- Resolve issues before they delay following trades

Quality Control

- Manage ITPs across framing, insulation, noggins, door frames, sheeting and setting
- Inspect completed work at each stage before it is closed or covered
- Ensure fire-rated, acoustic and seismic systems are installed to specification
- Manage hold points and obtain all required sign-offs
- Maintain detailed photographic and video records of concealed and critical works
- Identify defects early and ensure they are rectified before handover
- Maintain a consistently high standard of finish across every project

Subcontractor Management

- Coordinate subcontractors across framing, sheeting, setting, insulation and external works
- Confirm scope,



pricing and program requirements before work commences
- Monitor subcontractor performance, productivity, conduct and safety
- Complete and maintain accurate daily timesheets and site records
- Review subcontractor invoices and progress claims against completed work
- Defect subcontractor work and ensure it is brought up to the required standard
- Ensure all subcontractors follow approved SWMS and site requirements

Builder and Site Coordination

- Build strong relationships with the builder’s site team, Project Manager and Contract Administrator
- Attend site, coordination and progress meetings
- Respond promptly to builder correspondence and site requirements
- Raise design errors, drawing clashes and preceding trade defects in writing
- Participate in regular site walk-arounds with management

Commercial and Cost Control

- Identify and document variations as early as possible
- Complete dayworks forms for work outside the contracted scope
- Obtain signed approval from the builder’s representative and submit records promptly
- Support monthly progress claims by confirming the percentage of work completed
- Monitor hired equipment and arrange its return when no longer required
- Record damage or delays caused by other trades to support back-charges
- Protect project margins through accurate records, variation management and cost awareness

Safety and Compliance

- Ensure all workers and subcontractors are inducted and working under current SWMS
- Enforce PPE, exclusion zones and safe work practices
- Maintain plant,



equipment and tag-and-test records
- Ensure first-aid requirements are maintained on site
- Record and report all incidents, injuries and safety concerns immediately
- Lead by example and maintain professional standards across the site

Skills and Experience

- Proven experience supervising commercial plastering, ceilings, partitions and fitout packages
- Strong understanding of commercial construction sequencing and programming
- Sound knowledge of ITPs, hold points and quality-control procedures
- Experience with fire-rated, acoustic and seismic systems
- Ability to read and set out work from architectural and engineering drawings
- Confident managing subcontractors across price, program, quality and safety
- Commercial understanding of dayworks, variations, back-charges and progress claims
- Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills
- Current White Card
- Valid driver’s licence
- Relevant trade qualification highly regarded
- QBCC licence or supervisor licence highly regarded
- Available to commence immediately or at short notice

The Successful Candidate

You will be a direct and accountable supervisor who leads by example. You will understand the builder’s program, maintain high quality standards and protect project margins through accurate documentation and early identification of issues.
