Directions Health Services

Bega

At Directions Health Services, we believe every interaction matters. From the very first phone call or welcome at reception, compassionate and person-centred support can make a meaningful difference in someone’s experience accessing care.

For nearly 50 years, we’ve provided innovative alcohol and other drug (AOD), mental health and primary health services across the ACT and NSW — supporting individuals, families and communities to improve health and wellbeing without judgement.

We’re now seeking an organised, proactive and people-focused Administration Officer & Receptionist to join our multidisciplinary team at the Bega Mental Health Hub (BMHH) and Sapphire Health and Wellbeing Service (SHaWS) AOD Hub.

About the Role

This is a varied and rewarding role that combines reception, administration, operational coordination and client support within a busy community health environment.

As the first point of contact for many people accessing the Bega Hub, you’ll help create a warm, welcoming and safe environment for clients, families, carers and partner services. You’ll also provide high-quality administrative and operational support across the Bega Mental Health Hub, SHaWS AOD Hub and other Directions programs as required.

Working closely with the NSW Regional Manager, Team Leaders and multidisciplinary teams, you’ll play an important role in supporting smooth day-to-day operations and ensuring people can access the support they need.

You will:

- Provide a warm, professional and welcoming reception experience for clients and visitors

- Coordinate referrals, appointments, recalls and follow-up communication

- Maintain accurate client records, databases and information management systems

- Provide administrative support across multiple Directions programs and outreach locations

- Support fleet, facilities and operational coordination activities

- Assist with agendas, meeting minutes and data entry tasks

- Liaise with GPs, referrers, external organisations and internal stakeholders

- Support staff professional development coordination and compliance activities

- Contribute to quality improvement, safety and organisational processes

- Help maintain a positive, collaborative and supportive team environment

This is a part-time, fixed term contract. We are looking for someone available to work 22.5 hours a week worked over 4 days

What We’re Looking For

You’re someone who thrives in a busy and people-focused environment. You’re organised, approachable and proactive, with a genuine commitment to supporting both clients and colleagues.

You’ll bring:

- Certificate IV in Business Administration (or equivalent), or currently working towards

- Experience in an administrative or reception environment

- Robust organisational skills and excellent attention to detail

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Confidence using Microsoft Office programs and electronic record management systems

- Ability to manage competing priorities and work independently

- Professionalism, reliability and a strong work ethic

- A compassionate and non-judgemental approach when engaging with people from diverse backgrounds

Highly desirable:

- Experience working in mental health, AOD and/or community services environments

What We Offer

- A supportive, inclusive and values-driven workplace

- Opportunities to contribute to meaningful community health services

- Ongoing career development and training opportunities

- Generous salary packaging benefits

- 17½% leave loading

- The opportunity to work within a passionate multidisciplinary team making a genuine difference in the community
