About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Chef to join our Sassafras team. This role offers the unique opportunity to work in a non-menu environment , where meals are curated weekly, allowing ample time for planning, preparation, and creativity. The focus is on wholesome, beautifully presented, restaurant-quality meals that nourish and delight our guests.

You’ll be working within a supportive and calm environment that values presentation, quality ingredients, and attention to detail. Each meal is an opportunity to showcase your craft — from seasonal produce to inspired plating.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and prepare a rotating weekly menu focused on freshness, balance, and variety




- Prepare and serve high-quality meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner service
- Manage kitchen operations including ordering, stock rotation, and hygiene standards
- Maintain a clean, organised, and aesthetically presented kitchen
- Work collaboratively with the management team to uphold HARP’s standards of excellence
- Accommodate dietary requirements with care and precision

What We’re Looking For

- A qualified chef or experienced cook with a strong passion for food and creativity
- Excellent time management and ability to work independently
- Solid knowledge of seasonal produce and balanced nutrition
- High attention to detail and commitment to presentation standards
- Calm, skilled demeanour suited to a luxury hospitality environment
- Previous experience in boutique hotels, retreats, or high-end hospitality preferred
