Job Title: Video Editor | Post Production
$35 - $42 per hour (inclusive of casual loading) + 12% super

We’re on the lookout for a casual video editor to join the team at Comma Films.

We’re after someone who’s genuinely passionate about editing, has a strong creative eye, and knows how to bring stories to life through great pacing, strong visuals and polished execution. We work across a mix of corporate, commercial and creative projects, so we’re looking for someone versatile, team-oriented and creatively switched on. Someone who can cut confidently, contribute ideas, and help us make excellent work.

Responsibilities

- Edit high-quality video content across a variety of projects.
- Create supporting motion graphics, graphics and image-based assets where required.
- Work closely with our team to ensure all content aligns with the overall creative direction, brand tone and project goals.
- Help maintain efficient workflows, file management and project organisation.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, tools and techniques to continually elevate the quality of work.
- Use AI tools sensibly within the post workflow to speed up repetitive tasks, so more time goes into the creative work.

Requirements

- 3 years minimum experience in video editing.
- Strong editing skills, with a good understanding of pacing, storytelling, colour correction and motion graphics.
- Advanced motion graphics ability.




- Familiarity with AI-assisted post tools (transcription and text-based editing, auto-captioning, rotoscoping and masking, audio cleanup, upscaling) and good judgement about where they help and where they don't.
- Strong Photoshop skills, with the ability to create and manipulate visual assets as needed.
- Proficiency in DaVinci Resolve and Adobe Creative Cloud (particularly Premiere Pro, After Effects and Photoshop) and a solid understanding of delivery specifications and formats across different platforms.
- A strong showreel that demonstrates your video editing and motion graphics capabilities.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate well within a team and follow a brief.
- Excellent time management and the ability to work independently when needed.

Bonus Skills

- Experience shooting video is a big plus.
- Knowledge of Illustrator, InDesign and Lightroom is advantageous.
