We are seeking a Retail Assistant to join the team at Bundy Chop Shop in Bundaberg North, Queensland. This is a part-time position that offers an exciting opportunity to be part of our retail operations and contribute to delivering an exceptional customer experience. As a Retail Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the smooth running of our store, assisting customers with their shopping needs, and maintaining our store environment to the highest standards.

Key responsibilities

- Assist customers with product inquiries and provide knowledgeable recommendations to enhance their shopping experience
- Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently using point-of-sale systems
- Stock shelves and display areas with merchandise, ensuring products are attractively presented and clearly priced
- Maintain store cleanliness, organization and safety standards throughout your shift
- Receive and process incoming stock deliveries, checking goods against documentation
- Handle customer queries and complaints professionally, seeking to resolve issues to customer satisfaction
- Support the retail team in achieving sales targets and promoting store initiatives
- Comply with company policies, procedures and relevant retail legislation

What we’re looking for

Previous retail or customer service experience is preferred, though we welcome enthusiastic candidates willing to learn

Strong communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with customers and colleagues

Reliable and punctual,



with the flexibility to work part-time hours as required by the business most of which is between school hours.

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced retail setting

Basic numeracy skills and comfort with operating point-of-sale systems or willingness to learn

Physical capability to perform tasks such as lifting, carrying and standing for extended periods

Attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation

Customer-focused mindset with a genuine desire to provide excellent service
