South Bunbury Education Support Centre (ESC) is a specialist setting which caters to the needs of students with a diagnosis of Intellectual Disability or Autism Spectrum Disorder with high educational need.Staff at South Bunbury ESC have a holistic view of education. The Role

The Deputy Principal at South Bunbury ESC has a key role in contributing to the development of strategic and operational planning and reporting. Ideally, this will require a strong knowledge of current department strategic direction and policy documents. It is important that suitable applicants have the ability to collect and analyse relevant data which can be used to inform strategic planning.

It is desirable that our Deputy Principal has a good knowledge of SIS (Integris), Compass, Reporting to Parents and Microsoft programs, particularly Word and Excel. Knowledge and experience with programs which support the collection of academic and behaviour data (e.g. Pulse) will be highly regarded.

Suitable applicants should have exceptional organisational skills as establishing and maintaining effective operational systems is an important aspect of the role.



Our Deputy Principal will need to be able to support the principal to manage a large number of staff through developing, communicating and adjusting timetables, and managing relief. The role will also involve the management of therapy provision, work experience students and volunteer work at the school. Suitable applicants will lead and mentor teachers to develop effective teaching skills and strategies. They will lead and support staff to manage and regulate the behaviour of students through a Positive Behaviour Support lens.
