Kyvalley Dairy is seeking an experienced Maintenance Fitter to join our team at our Geelong facility in Victoria. This is a full-time afternoon shift position offering a challenging opportunity to maintain and repair critical equipment and machinery across our dairy operations. As a Maintenance Fitter, you will play an essential role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our production equipment, directly supporting our operational targets and business continuity.

What you'll be doing

In this role, you will be responsible for a diverse range of maintenance activities that keep our operations running smoothly. Your key responsibilities will include:

- Performing preventative and corrective maintenance on production machinery, equipment and systems
- Identifying, diagnosing and resolving mechanical faults and equipment failures
- Conducting routine inspections, service and repairs to ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently
- Reading and interpreting technical drawings, maintenance manuals and equipment specifications
- Assisting with the installation and commissioning of new equipment
- Maintaining accurate maintenance records and documentation
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives to minimise downtime and enhance operational efficiency
- Working collaboratively with operational teams to prioritise maintenance activities
- Adhering to all safety protocols and contributing to a safe working environment

What we're looking for

To succeed in this Maintenance Fitter role, you will need to demonstrate the following skills, qualifications and experience:

- A relevant trade qualification in fitting, machining, mechanical engineering or a related discipline
- Ability to work on afternoon shift independently.




- Proven experience working as a fitter or in a similar maintenance role within a manufacturing or food production environment
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools and precision measuring instruments
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Sound understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics and mechanical systems
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
- Current or the ability to obtain relevant safety certifications as required for the role
