Punjab Curry Club is a restaurant offering quality Indian cuisine with a focus on authentic flavours, consistent food quality and excellent customer service. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Chef to join our kitchen team.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for the preparation and cooking of a range of Indian dishes while maintaining high standards of food quality, presentation, hygiene and kitchen safety.

Key responsibilities include:

- Preparing, cooking and presenting Indian dishes to a consistently high standard.
- Planning and preparing ingredients for daily service.
- Ensuring food is prepared in accordance with recipes and quality standards.
- Monitoring food preparation and cooking processes.
- Maintaining appropriate portion control and minimising food wastage.
- Assisting with menu preparation and introducing dishes where required.
- Monitoring stock levels and assisting with ordering ingredients.
- Ensuring the kitchen, equipment and food preparation areas are maintained in a clean and hygienic condition.




- Complying with food safety, workplace health and safety requirements.
- Working efficiently as part of a qualified kitchen team.
- Maintaining consistency in taste, quality and presentation during busy service periods.

Skills and Experience

To be successful in this position, applicants should have:

- Relevant AQF qualification in Commercial Cookery/Cookery , such as Certificate III/IV or equivalent.
- Strong work experience as a Chef , preferably in an Indian restaurant or similar commercial kitchen environment.
- Strong knowledge of Indian cooking techniques, ingredients, spices and preparation methods.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to work under pressure in a busy restaurant setting.
- Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
- Good organisational and time-management skills.
- A strong commitment to food quality and customer satisfaction.

Salary and Benefits

The position offers a salary of $79,500 per annum + superannuation , commensurate with the requirements of the position and the successful applicant's skills and experience.
