Deciding what range of meat, poultry and grocery lines to stock.
Deciding how much inventory to hold.
Determining the level of customer service the store should provide.
Developing supplier and buying arrangements for meat, poultry and grocery products.
Deciding on retail pricing based on cost, competitor activity and customer demand.
Running marketing initiatives and in-store promotions to build awareness of the store’s products and specials.
Promoting value-added items such as marinated or ready-to-cook meats.
Serving customers directly.
Guiding customers on cuts of meat, cooking methods and product choices to suit their needs.
Keeping accurate records of inventory movements and wastage.
Keeping records of daily financial transactions.
Reconciling daily takings against stock.
Preparing financial budgets for the business.




Forecasting costs such as stock purchases, wages and overheads.
Recruiting butchery and retail staff.
Training, rostering and supervising butchery and retail staff.
Overseeing workplace health and safety compliance.
Ensuring compliance with food-handling and hygiene standards required for the sale of fresh and perishable goods.

Qualification Requirement:
An AQF Diploma or higher qualification, such as a Diploma, Advanced Diploma, Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree.
Experience Required: 1 year as Retail Manager.

Pay: $75,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
