The Opportunity:

We are seeking a proactive and passionate Integrity Officer to play a vital role in protecting the integrity of basketball through the detection, assessment, disruption and prevention of wagering-related integrity threats.

As a key member of Integrity Department, this role supports Basketball Australia’s proactive approach to upholding ethical conduct and regulatory compliance, across prohibited wagering, competition manipulation, misuse of inside information and other corrupt conduct.

Based at the State Basketball Centre in Wantirna South, Victoria, this permanent full-time position requires a diligent individual who can manage multiple tasks efficiently while ensuring a high level of engagement with internal and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include:





- Monitor and assess wagering activity across Australian basketball competitions to identify unusual or suspicious betting patterns, emerging risks and potential integrity concerns.
- Analyse wagering alerts, monitoring reports and other available data and intelligence to identify potential breaches of Basketball Australia policies or other integrity risks.
- Manage wagering-related intelligence, including the collection, assessment, recording and dissemination of information to support integrity enquiries and investigations.
- Conduct and support enquiries and investigations into suspected prohibited wagering, competition manipulation, misuse of inside information and other wagering-related integrity matters.
- Coordinate restricted-person wagering audits and other proactive monitoring activities, including requesting and analysing wagering information from Wagering Service Providers.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with Wagering Service Providers, betting monitoring providers, regulators, law enforcement, Sport Integrity Australia and other relevant integrity partners.
- Support Basketball Australia’s regulatory obligations as a Sports Controlling Body, including required notifications, reporting, audits and engagement with relevant gambling regulators.




- Identify emerging wagering and competition manipulation threats and contribute to integrity risk assessments, intelligence products and mitigation strategies.

Experience:

- Proven experience in a similar role for a sporting organisation and/or within a regulated setting.
- Proven experience in data analysis (experience with wagering data preferred) with the ability to apply those concepts to prepare intelligence reports.
- Demonstrated record of appropriate handling of confidential information and manage range of high-profile projects.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
