The JS STEM Coordinator is a member of the Junior School Leadership team and, as such, accepts leadership responsibilities beyond those pertaining to the specific subject area. As a member of the JS Leadership team, they have both strategic and operational accountability. They work with the Section Coordinators to support Class teachers with the planning and implementation of a highly effective STEM curricula. This would be achieved through participative decision‑making, supportive delegation and leadership which encourages collaboration. They lead the development and implementation of a whole JS STEM program and strategic plan in line with the Victorian Curriculum.

The JS STEM Coordinator will also work in collaboration with the JS Digital Technologies teacher/LTC to upskill teaching staff in areas of IT and to ensure the implementation of an evidence‑informed Digital Technologies program.

Some responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- -Member of the Junior School Leadership Team, contributing to the strategic direction and continuous improvement of the School.
- -Lead the development and delivery of innovative P-6 Science, Mathematics and Digital Technologies programs aligned with the Victorian Curriculum.
- -Drive excellence in teaching and learning through instructional leadership, coaching, mentoring and qualified growth of teachers.
- -Lead professional learning initiatives, including classroom observations, learning walks and lesson modelling.
- -Collaborate with school leaders and Section Coordinators to enhance STEM teaching and learning across the Junior School.
- -Analyse and interpret student achievement data to inform teaching practice and improve student outcomes.
- -Develop, maintain and review STEM curriculum documentation, including Scope and Sequence, assessment and planning frameworks.
- -Support teachers to design and implement engaging, evidence‑informed and responsive learning experiences.




- -Lead the implementation and integration of Digital Technologies within the Junior School curriculum.
- -Foster partnerships with Learning Diversity and Gifted & Talented teams to support and extend all learners.
- 0Promote student participation and achievement in STEM‑related competitions, enrichment opportunities and learning initiatives.
- -Manage STEM resources, budgets and technology partnerships to support high‑quality programs and future‑focused learning.

- -Demonstrated familiarity with current learning and wellbeing theories especially in relation to the primary years, and the ability to apply this in strategic approaches, program planning and implementation.
- -Demonstrated ability to provide high‑impact instructional coaching that ensures the continual development and growth of teacher expertise across the curriculum.
- -Proven competence with use of technology in a learning environment and in implementing curriculum.
- -An understanding of current educational issues at the local, national and international level.
- -Demonstrated professionalism and appropriate maintenance of confidentiality.
- -Experience in working with staff to develop relevant academic programs.
- -Flexible, responsive and creative with an innovative mindset.
- -Skilled at engaging with and developing positive relationships with a range of people in all levels of the organisation.
- -Well‑developed planning, organisational and decision‑making skills with the ability to prioritise effectively.
- -Relevant tertiary qualifications.
- -Current Victorian Institute of Teaching Registration.
- -Right to work in Australia
- -Participation in co‑curricular activities and educational experiences.
- -Adherence to all College policies and demonstration of behaviours in accordance with the Child Safe Standards.
