The Role:

n

We are currently seeking a Part Time Garment Technician to join our talented Product Development team in a 2 - 3 day/week role and play a key role in an iconic Australian brand.

n

You will support the Senior Garment Technician to ensure all product delivered to market upholds Ripe's high standards for quality, fit, and detail. You will work within our close-knit team, playing a crucial role from the first prototype to final shipment.

Key Responsibilities

- Work closely with the senior garment tech, designer and offshore manufacturers.
n
- Follow design direction to create detailed technical packsfor offshore suppliers.
n
- Assist in the garment fit process from initial prototype through to bulk production.
n
- Attend fit sessions, when necessary, provide professional input, manage specifications, adjustments, and revisions.
n
- Check and measure fit, pre‐production and shipping samples for quality and compliance, and provide clear,



detailed fit comments to suppliers at every stage from proto through to bulk.
n
- Partner with offshore factories on fit, pattern and workmanship, while clearly communicating quality requirements.
n
- Maintain productive working relationships with off‐shore suppliers.
n
- Carry out accurate garment grading across size ranges, ensuring transparent tolerances and quality benchmarks are met.
n
- Garment care lables and inhouse garment testing.
n
- Investigate product feedback on fit, manufacturing or quality.
n
- Use Lectra software for occassional pattern alterations and to create pattern blocks.
n
- Create and maintain fashion CAD illustrations, using Illustrator.
n
- Assist the designer where required with visual merchandising and collection handbooks, and mood boards.
n
- Administration including maintaining accurate product, fabric, supplier, scheduling data in the Apparel21 ERP system.
n
- Proactively identify and drive improvements in garment construction, fit, and overall quality.
n

What We're Looking For:

n

n
- 3+ years' experience as a Garment Technician in all areas of women's fashion apparel inc. knits, wovens, denim and fully fashioned knitwear.
n
- Tertiary qualifications in Design, Pattern Making, and/or Grading
n
- Advanced knowledge of garment construction, grading, specs, and tech packs
n
- Experience with Lectra software is advantageous but not essential
n
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly experienced in Excel, and Adobe Illustrator
n
- Experience with fabric testing and quality assurance
n
- Strong communication skills with both international suppliers & internal team
n
- Strong organisational skills to adhere to critical path deadlines
n
