About the Role

n

Your responsibilities may include:

n

n
- Providing personal care and assistance with daily living activities.
n
- Supporting transfers, repositioning and mobility using appropriate equipment.
n
- Assisting with showering, dressing, grooming and toileting.
n
- Supporting meal preparation and feeding as required.
n
- Assisting with medication in accordance with the client's support plan and relevant procedures.
n
- Assisting the client with urinary catheter and leg bag care, including emptying and monitoring the leg bag as required
n
- Maintaining a clean, safe and comfortable environment.
n
- Following the client's individual care plan, manual-handling procedures and health and safety requirements.
n
- Communicating respectfully with the client, family members and other members of the support team.
n
- Recognising and appropriately reporting any changes in the client's condition or wellbeing.
n

About You

n

We are looking for someone who:

- Has experience supporting people with physical disabilities.
n
- Is confident providing personal care and physical assistance.
n
- Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
n
- Is patient, empathetic, trustworthy and respectful.
n
- Understands the importance of privacy, dignity and client choice.
n
- Is reliable, punctual and able to work independently.
n
- Is willing to learn and follow specific client routines and care requirements.
n

Essential / Desirable Requirements

n

n
- Certificate III or IV in Individual Support (Disability) or equivalent
n
- Previous experience with physical support needs.
n
- Experience and demonstrated competency in complex bowel care and urinary catheter care, with a strong commitment to secure, respectful and person-centred support.
n
- Mandarin speaking
n
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
n
- NDIS Worker Screening Check.
n
- Working with Children Check.
n
- Current driver's licence, if required.
n
- Manual handling training and experience using hoists and other mobility equipment.
n
- Current Flu vaccination
n
- Current Police check
n
