About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled, experienced, and safety-conscious Maintenance Fitter to join our dynamic production team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for the proactive and reactive mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of our industrial printing presses, finishing equipment, and associated plant machinery. You will play a vital role in ensuring maximum uptime, efficiency, and safety within our quick-paced manufacturing environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

- Perform preventative, predictive, and reactive maintenance on industrial mechanical systems, including pneumatics, hydraulics, gearboxes, bearings, and conveyors.

- Maintain and repair mechanical components of digital printing presses (e.g., HP Indigo, Ricoh) and high-speed finishing equipment (binders, cutters, laminators).

- Diagnose and rectify complex mechanical faults, such as misalignment or component wear, efficiently to minimize production downtime.

- Interpret mechanical blueprints, technical manuals, and pneumatic/hydraulic schematics to execute repairs and modifications.





- Conduct mechanical installations, machinery upgrades, and basic fabrication or welding as required to support plant infrastructure.

- Implement and adhere strictly to Lock Out/Tag Out (LOTO) procedures and all applicable safe work practices.

- Collaborate with Production Operators and Engineering teams to support continuous improvement, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and equipment reliability.

- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, part replacements, and equipment history using a Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

Qualifications & Experience

- Recognised trade certificate in Mechanical Engineering (e.g., Fitting and Turning, Maintenance Fitting) with at least five years of industrial maintenance experience.

- Strong ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and fluid power schematics, coupled with practical fabrication and machining skills.

- Proven background in manufacturing, print, or production environments, including hands-on experience utilizing a CMMS for maintenance tracking.

- Flexibility to participate in a roster for after-hours emergencies or work night shifts to support 24/7 operations, with Lean manufacturing training highly regarded.
