Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Python Developer for an prospect working with the AiLECS Lab, a collaboration between Monash University and the Australian Federal Police. The role will focus on developing and optimising AI/ML models and applications, working with large datasets and collaborating with data scientists, engineers and research fellows to take machine learning projects from development through to production.

Key responsibilities

n

Develop and optimise machine learning models and applications using Python

n

Build and fine-tune ML models using frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, Hugging Face and Ultralytics

n

Implement machine learning algorithms from research papers into robust and scalable software

n

Evaluate and benchmark model performance using appropriate metrics

n

Clean, prepare and augment large datasets for model development

n

Develop APIs and integrate AI systems with existing applications and platforms

n





Apply MLOps practices to support model development, evaluation and deployment

n

Work within Agile development environments using tools such as GitLab, GitHub or Azure DevOps

n

About you

n

Minimum 2 years' experience in Python software development

n

Experience developing and/or fine-tuning machine learning models

n

Strong understanding of machine learning algorithms and AI model architectures

n

Experience with PyTorch and/or TensorFlow

n

Experience with libraries such as NumPy, Hugging Face and/or Ultralytics

n

Experience evaluating and benchmarking ML model performance

n

Experience developing REST APIs and integrating applications

n

Familiarity with CI/CD, version control and software testing

n

Experience working with Agile methodologies

n

Australian Citizens with an ability to obtain NV1
