MCM Construct is a national transport business delivering specialised haulage for major construction & infrastructure projects, linehaul operations, express freight, FMCG and wharf cartage. We operate a brand new multi-combination fleet and pride ourselves on safety, reliability and doing the job right — every load, every day.

The role

n

You will be operating A-double combinations on structured transport runs daily between regional Victoria and Clayton, Melbourne. Your responsibilities will include:

n

- Safely operating A-double combinations
n
- Coupling, uncoupling and splitting trailer combinations, when required
n
- Loading, securing and checking freight before departure
n
- Correctly applying and inspecting load restraints and lashings
n
- Completing daily vehicle and trailer pre-start inspections
n
- Following approved routes, schedules and site requirements
n
- Completing delivery paperwork and electronic job records
n
- Immediately reporting defects, delays, incidents and safety concerns
n
- Complying with fatigue, mass, load-restraint and Chain of Responsibility requirements
n
- Maintaining professional communication with operations, customers and site teams
n

What you'll need

n

To be considered, you must have:

n

n
- Previous A-double or B-double driving experience
n




- Strong practical experience in load restraint including chains and binders.
n
- A sound understanding of fatigue management, mass requirements and Chain of Responsibility
n
- A good driving history and strong safety record
n
- A reliable, professional and team-focused attitude
n
- The ability to complete paperwork and use electronic driver systems
n
- Australian working rights
n
