Tonitto Cakes is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Team Leader to join our retail team on a full‑time basis at our Port Kembla, NSW location. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for leading and motivating a team of retail assistants to deliver exceptional customer service whilst maintaining the highest standards of product quality and store presentation. This is an ideal chance for someone with a passion for retail excellence and the ability to inspire and develop team members in a fast‑paced retail environment.

Key responsibilities

- Lead, supervise and motivate a team of retail assistants to achieve sales targets and customer service objectives
- Ensure the retail store is well‑organised, clean and visually appealing at all times
- Train and develop team members on product knowledge, customer service standards and operational procedures
- Manage stock levels, conduct inventory checks and ensure products are displayed attractively
- Ensuring products are correctly stored and orders fullfilled in tight timeframes
- Provide excellent customer service, addressing customer queries and resolving complaints professionally
- Monitor and maintain cash handling procedures, ensuring accuracy and securitySupport the implementation of promotional activities and marketing initiatives
- Report on team performance and provide feedback to senior management
- Ensure compliance with health, safety and food hygiene regulations
- Responding and monitoring multi channel ordering systems, online, telephone and in person
- Assist with scheduling and rostering of team members

What we're looking for

- Proven experience in a retail team leadership or supervisory role within the retail and consumer products sector
- Strong knowledge of retail operations, customer service standards and sales techniques
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead and motivate a diverse team




- Demonstrated ability to achieve sales targets and drive business performance
- Proficiency in using point-of-sale (POS) systems and retail management software
- Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks
- Knowledge of health, safety and food hygiene standards in a retail environment
- A passion for customer service and delivering a positive shopping experience
- Flexibility and willingness to work retail hours, including weekends and public holidays as required
- Experience in the bakery or food retail sector is highly desirable

This role is to manage and care for the retail side of the shop and to support management in the day to day running of the business
