Job Description

GP@Anderson is seeking a friendly, organised and skilled Medical Receptionist to join our team 6 days a fortnight. This role is suited to someone who enjoys working with people, has excellent communication skills and can provide a welcoming and supportive experience for patients. As the first point of contact for patients, you will play an important role in the smooth day-to-day operation of the practice, supporting our doctors and clinical team while ensuring patients receive efficient and courteous service.

Key responsibilities

n

Welcoming patients and managing front-desk enquiries.

n

Answering incoming phone calls and responding to patient enquiries.

n

Scheduling, confirming and managing appointments.

n

Maintaining accurate patient records and updating information in the practice management system.

n

Processing patient payments, Medicare claims and private billing.

n

Managing correspondence, referrals and incoming medical documents.

n

Liaising with doctors, nurses, allied health professionals and other medical providers.

n

Maintaining patient confidentiality and following privacy requirements.

Supporting general administrative duties to ensure the smooth operation of the practice.

Must be experienced working with Best Practice Software

n

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Good computer skills and confidence learning new systems.

A commitment to patient confidentiality and professional conduct.

Previous medical reception or general practice experience is highly regarded.

n

Familiarity with medical billing, Medicare claims and practice management software will be an advantage.
