Workshop Manager - European Automotive Workshop

Our client is an established and growing European automotive workshop specialising in the service, diagnostics, and repair of European vehicles, including BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Volkswagen, Porsche, Land Rover, and other prestige European makes.

They are seeking an experienced and motivated Workshop Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day operation of their busy workshop.

n

This is a hands‐on management position suited to someone with strong automotive knowledge who can lead a team, manage workshop workflow, deal confidently with customers, and take ownership of ensuring jobs are completed properly and on time.

About the Role

n

As Workshop Manager, you will oversee the daily operation of the workshop from vehicle arrival through to completion and collection.

n

Your Responsibilities Will Include

n

- Managing the daily workshop schedule and workflow.
n
- Allocating work to technicians and apprentices.
n
- Managing and supporting workshop staff.
n
- Monitoring jobs throughout the day and keeping work progressing.
n
- Liaising with customers and providing repair updates.
n
- Preparing quotes and obtaining customer approvals.
n
- Reviewing technician findings and recommended repairs.
n
- Ordering parts and dealing with suppliers.
n
- Ensuring jobs are accurately invoiced and all work performed is accounted for.
n
- Managing vehicle completion times and customer expectations.
n
- Carrying out quality‐control checks and organising road tests.
n
- Assisting technicians with technical and diagnostic issues when required.
n




- Monitoring workshop productivity and efficiency.
n
- Maintaining high standards of workmanship and reducing comebacks.
n
- Managing customer concerns and resolving issues professionally.
n
- Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe workshop.
n
- Working closely with the business owner to improve workshop performance.
n

About You

n

n
- Has strong automotive mechanical knowledge.
n
- Has experience as a Workshop Manager, Workshop Foreman, Service Manager, or Senior Automotive Technician.
n
- Can confidently manage technicians and apprentices.
n
- Is organised and able to manage multiple jobs simultaneously.
n
- Has robust customer service and communication skills.
n
- Understands quoting, labour times, parts, and invoicing.
n
- Can identify problems early and find effective solutions.
n
- Takes pride in workmanship and customer satisfaction.
n
- Is comfortable taking responsibility and making day‐to‐day decisions.
n
- Has a strong work ethic and leads by example.
n
- Holds a current Australian driver's licence.
n

European vehicle experience is highly regarded, particularly experience with BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Volkswagen, Porsche, and Land Rover.
