Join an established, experienced trade team in a busy structural steel workshop. This is a hands-on fabrication role working with structural steel (mild steel) in Clontarf.

- $50.00 / hr
- 6.00am to 4.00pm

Key responsibilities

- MIG welding structural steel components to a high standard
- Marking out and setting out fabrications from drawings to tight tolerances
- Fitting and assembling beams, columns, cleats, base plates and trusses - tacking up square and true before weld-out
- Reading and interpreting fabrication drawings, weld symbols and cutting lists
- Managing distortion control and weld sequencing on larger fabrications
- Working independently from shop drawings with minimal supervisionMaintaining a clean, tidy and protected workshop

About you

- Certificate III in Engineering (Fabrication Trade) or equivalent
- Ability to pass a practical weld test as part of the selection process
- Confident reading structural steel/fabrication drawings
- Physically capable of sustained hands-on trade work
- Background in structural steel fabrication highly regarded
- Overhead crane, forklift, or dogging/rigging tickets highly regarded but not essential
