About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Payroll Officer to join our team at our Pakenham Head Office.

This is a hands-on position offering the opportunity to take ownership of the end-to-end weekly payroll function across multiple entities, while also supporting a range of HR and administration activities. You will be someone who is keen to take the role to the next level.

Reporting directly to the Senior Accountant, you will play an important role in ensuring our employees are paid accurately and on time, while maintaining compliance with relevant legislation, Awards and company requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Take full ownership of the weekly end-to-end payroll process across eight entities, with the opportunity to support additional entities as the business grows. (Approx 180 employees)
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date payroll and employee records.
- Investigate and resolve payroll queries, discrepancies and employee pay-related issues.
- Process and reconcile payroll liabilities.
- Manage weekly Superannuation payments
- Manage monthly Child Support,



Payroll Tax and PAYG and Co-Invest lodgments obligations and payments.
- Maintain compliance with relevant Awards, employment legislation and Workcover requirements.
- Provide accurate and timely payroll advice and support to employees and senior leadership.
- Assist with employee recruitment, onboarding and offboarding processes.
- Support general HR administration and employee record management.
- Identify opportunities to improve payroll and HR processes and systems.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- A minimum of 3 years' experience in payroll in a similar role.
- Proven experience managing multiple weekly payrolls across different entities.
- Experience working within a medium to large organisation.
- Strong understanding of payroll legislation, Awards and compliance requirements.
- Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Strong time management and organisational skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work confidently and independently, while also being a supportive team player.
- A proactive approach and willingness to contribute to process improvements.
- Previous experience or exposure to HR practices, or a willingness to learn.
