About the role

We are seeking a skilled Workshop Fabricator to join our team at our Broadmeadows facility in Victoria. This is a full-time position based on-site where you will play a crucial role in our fabrication operations. As a Workshop Fabricator, you will be responsible for manufacturing, assembling, and welding components to precise specifications, ensuring that all work meets our exacting quality standards and safety requirements. Your expertise will directly contribute to the successful delivery of our projects and the reputation Drillcut has built in the industry.

Key responsibilities

- Fabricate, assemble and weld metal components using a variety of welding techniques and equipment
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints and work specifications to ensure accuracy
- Operate workshop machinery and tools safely and efficiently, including cutting, bending and grinding equipment
- Conduct quality inspections and measurements to ensure all work meets required tolerances and standards
- Prepare materials and components for welding, including cleaning, positioning and clamping
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe workshop environment, following all health and safety protocols
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure timely project completion
- Report any equipment faults or maintenance issues promptly




- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the fabrication workshop

What we’re looking for

- Proven experience as a fabricator, welder or boilermaker, ideally within a workshop or manufacturing environment
- Competency in various welding techniques such as MIG, TIG and stick welding
- Proficiency with fabrication tools and workshop machinery
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high-quality workmanship
- A solid understanding of health and safety practices relevant to welding and fabrication
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Physical fitness and the ability to perform manual labour in a workshop setting
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in welding or fabrication are highly valued
- Experience with CNC machinery or CAD software is desirable but not essential
