We are seeking a Primary Designer / Drafter to join our supportive and passionate team.

n

This role focuses on zone substation primary design and drafting, including:

n

66kV GIS buildings

n

22kV AIS systems

n

Primary substation layouts, equipment arrangements and associated drafting

n

Development and preparation of detailed electrical design drawings

n

This is a hands‐on role contributing to the delivery of safe, efficient, and high‐quality substation designs and drafting outputs from concept through to detailed design.

n

Key Responsibilities

n

Deliver and/or support primary substation design solutions, including substations up to 500kV, earthing, lighting and cable design

n

Produce and develop detailed primary electrical drawings and drafting documentation using AutoCAD

n

Develop designs and drawings in line with AS 2067, relevant standards and Safety in Design requirements

n

Coordinate with secondary, civil and project teams to ensure integrated design delivery

n

Review and verify internal and external design outputs and manufacturer drawings

n

Support scoping and estimation of primary design and drafting works

n

Contribute to design standards, technical improvements and innovation initiatives

n

Ensure designs and drafting outputs meet safety, quality and project objectives

n

About You

n

We are open to candidates with an engineering, design or drafting background, including:

n





Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical) for engineering‐level candidates

n

Relevant experience in the electrical/power industry, ideally within substation design or drafting

n

Strong understanding of primary substation design, drafting and documentation

n

Experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation

n

Ability to interpret electrical engineering drawings, layouts and design documentation

n

Understanding of Safety in Design principles

n

Working towards or holding NER / RPEng / RPEV (or equivalent) for engineering‐level candidates

n

RPEQ advantageous

n

Robust attention to detail and the ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary project teams

n
