Our client is looking for a Town Planner to join their Brisbane team.

n

They are a busy and growing town planning consultancy working across a diverse range of development projects throughout Queensland. They pride themselves on providing practical, commercial and solutions-focused planning advice to their clients.

n

This is a great opportunity for a planner looking to develop their skills in a hands‐on consultancy environment, working directly with experienced senior planners and directors across all stages of the development approval process.

The Role

n

Responsibilities

n

As a Town Planner, you will be involved in a broad range of planning and development projects. Depending on your experience, your responsibilities will include:

n

n
- Undertaking preliminary planning and development investigations;
n
- Preparing and assisting with development applications;
n
- Reviewing and interpreting planning schemes, legislation and planning policies;
n
- Undertaking planning research, analysis and due diligence;
n
- Preparing planning reports, correspondence and other application documentation;
n
- Liaising with clients, Councils and other project consultants;
n
- Assisting senior planners and directors with complex development matters;
n
- Managing your own workload to meet project deadlines and budgets; and
n
- Developing practical and commercially focused solutions to planning and development issues.

The role emphasises technically high-quality work, independent analysis, commercial problem-solving and delivering outcomes within client expectations.

About You

n

We are looking for someone who has:

n

n
- A degree in Town Planning, Urban and Regional Planning or an equivalent planning qualification;
n
- An understanding of Queensland planning legislation and planning schemes;
n
- Strong written and verbal communication skills;
n
- Positive analytical and problem-solving skills;
n
- Strong attention to detail;
n
- The ability to build positive relationships with clients, consultants and colleagues;
n
- Good organisational and time-management skills; and
n
- A practical attitude and willingness to learn.
n

Competent Microsoft Word and Excel skills, along with strong interpersonal and communication abilities, are also required.
