About ICYMHS

n

The Infant Child and Youth Mental Health Service (ICYMHS) sits within the Mental Health Division (MHD) and provides tertiary mental health services to the north-eastern catchment of Melbourne (currently the local government areas of Banyule, Boroondara, Darebin, Nillumbik, Whittlesea, and Yarra). Young people eligible for the service are aged 0-25 years.

About the role

n

Austin ICYMHS has Speech Pathologists across the service, with a professional structure that provides opportunities for growth and development. This Graduate Speech Pathology role is a 12-month fixed term position with two rotations within ICYMHS. It incorporates both discipline specific and broader generic mental health work.

A regular day will see you participating in:

n

n
- Assessment and consultation around the communication needs of young people with mental health challenges
n
- Attending skilled supervision and clinical meetings within your team.
n
- Learning about key approaches and understandings necessary to working with young people within ICYMHS.
n

About you

n

You will be someone with excellent communication, interpersonal and collaboration skills, who has strong organisational and time management skills and a strong curiosity around the relationship between communication and mental health.

n

To be successful in this role you'll bring with you:

- Demonstrated wish to learn about the relationship between mental health and communication.

- Knowledge and familiarity with psychometric assessment tools.
n
