Hundt Law Pty Ltd is a boutique Fortitude Valley law firm specialising in property law and corporate and governance law for charities and not-for-profit organisations. The firm's lawyers are driven by a core purpose of building greater communities through excellence in legal services. Hundt Law is seeking a full-time Property Solicitor to join its property practice.

The Role

n

Working closely with Sarah Hundt, Principal, and collaboratively with the wider team, the Property Solicitor will:

n

n
- advise developers, investors, landowners and other clients on off-the-plan transactions, titling, subdivision and property development matters;
n
- draft and review contracts, disclosure material, special conditions, easements, covenants, consents, deeds, community management statements and other property instruments;
n
- review titles, plans, by-laws and development documentation;
n
- conduct and report on legal due diligence concerning development sites, ownership structures and property projects;
n
- assist with residential, commercial and mixed-use projects throughout the development lifecycle;
n
- manage contract administration, disclosure, titling, registration, staged or multiple-lot transactions and settlements;
n
- advise on complex or non-standard property transactions and ownership arrangements;
n
- assist with community titles schemes and related body corporate matters;
n
- prepare, review and advise on commercial and retail shop leases, as required;
n
- provide solicitor-level support to the firm's conveyancing team;
n
- liaise with clients, other solicitors, councils, government authorities, surveyors, town planners, body corporate consultants,



construction professionals and other advisers; and
n
- manage allocated matters, competing priorities and critical deadlines.

The role requires an understanding of the broader commercial and practical context of property development, including property investment, construction and property management. It also requires the ability to understand client objectives, coordinate complex matters involving multiple stakeholders and translate legal and commercial issues into practical next steps.

Essential Requirements

n

Essential Requirements Applicants must have:

n

n
- admission as an Australian legal practitioner;
n
- a current Queensland practising certificate, or eligibility to hold one;
n
- relevant property-law experience;
n
- demonstrated legal drafting, research and analytical capability;
n
- the ability to advise on and manage complex or non-standard property matters;
n
- outstanding written and oral communication skills;
n
- sound commercial judgment, initiative and attention to detail;
n
- effective file, project and deadline-management skills;
n
- the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, clients and external stakeholders;
n
- an understanding of professional, ethical and client-service obligations; and
n
- current lawful authority to work in Australia, or eligibility to obtain and maintain the visa required for the position.

Applicants subject to supervised legal practice may be considered if they hold, or are eligible to hold, an appropriate Queensland practising certificate.

Desirable Experience and Capabilities

n

Experience or capability in one or more of the following areas will be favourably regarded:

n

- off-the-plan transactions;
n
- titling, subdivision, community titles or property development;
n
- complex property contracts and instruments;
n
- commercial or retail leasing and conveyancing;
n
- the property development lifecycle, including investment, construction and property management;
n
- working with councils, government authorities and property-sector consultants;
n
- coordinating projects involving multiple stakeholders and deadlines;
n
- understanding the interaction between property development and broader community and economic objectives;
n
- property-related work for charities, not-for-profit organisations or community housing providers;
n
- stakeholder facilitation, strategic planning, governance, structured reporting, commercial consulting or business advisory work; and
n
- qualified networking and relationship management.

Business Development As a secondary component of the role, the Property Solicitor will represent Hundt Law at relevant professional and networking events, including weekly attendance at the firm's nominated local BNI chapter.

n

The position will also contribute to client and referral relationships, maintain awareness of relevant council, government and industry developments, and identify opportunities relevant to the firm's property practice.
