Experienced Machine Operator with Team Leader Experience?

We're looking for an experienced Machine Operator with previous Team Leader experience to join a well-established horticultural manufacturing operation in Skye.

This is a hands-on manufacturing role involving automated machinery, machine changeovers, troubleshooting, production targets and continuous improvement .

You'll primarily operate machinery while also using your leadership experience to support the team, improve processes and help keep production running efficiently.

About the Role

You'll be responsible for:

- Operating production machinery safely and efficiently
- Machine set-ups and changeovers
- Troubleshooting machinery and production issues
- Identifying root causes and helping minimise downtime
- Monitoring production output and machine performance
- Supporting process and workflow improvements
- Training, mentoring and supporting machine operators
- Working closely with production and maintenance teams
- Maintaining high standards of safety and quality

The role is hands-on and also involves detailed manual work with small plant cuttings and seeds using tweezers , so good manual dexterity and attention to detail are important.

About You

Previous Team Leader experience is essential.

You'll have:

- Experience diagnosing issues and identifying root causes
- Experience training or mentoring team members

- Strong communication skills
- Good attention to detail and manual dexterity

Highly Regarded

- Automated machinery experience
- Preventative maintenance experience
- Lean Manufacturing experience
- Mechanical or Engineering qualification
- Experience in horticulture, agriculture, food production or high-volume manufacturing

Shift Flexibility

Initially, you'll work either:

- 6:00am - 2:00pm
- 10:00am - 6:00pm

Roster flexibility is essential, as production requirements can change throughout the week.

- Previous Machine Operator experience
- Previous Team Leader experience
- Manufacturing or production experience
- Machine set-up/changeover experience
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving ability
- Unrestricted Australian working rights
- Flexibility to work changing shifts as required
