Job Description

View Melbourne is looking for a part-time Reservations Agent to join our team on St Kilda Road. Our reservations office is the first point of contact for everything that comes into the hotel — individual accommodation bookings, group enquiries, and conference and events business. Working alongside our Reservations Supervisor, you'll take calls and emails, get the details right, and ensure each booking is set up properly well before anyone arrives.

This role suits someone with a front office or robust customer service background who wants to move into reservations and gain exposure to the group and events side of the business. If you've worked a reception desk and know your way around a property management system, we'll teach you the rest.

Hours are primarily 3-4 weekdays, with occasional Saturdays as needed.

Key responsibilities

n

- Respond to accommodation, group, conference and events enquiries by phone, email and through our online channels.
n
- Enter and maintain reservations accurately — rates, guest profiles, billing instructions and special requests; Maximising revenue and conversion.
n
- Manage amendments, cancellations, no-shows, and corporate chargebacks.
n
- Take the first call on group and C&E; enquiries: capture the brief, check availability and pass qualified business to the Reservations Supervisor.

- Assist with group bookings — rooming lists, cut-off dates, deposits and pre-arrival details.

- Handle enquiries from our corporate, travel agents, partners, leisure and medical precinct guests.

What we're looking for

- Experience in hotel front office, reservations or a comparable customer service role
n
- Confident written and verbal communication
n
- Genuine attention to detail with a solutions-oriented approach
n
- The ability to juggle a busy phone and inbox across accommodation, group and events enquiries
n
- Availability to work weekdays, with some weekend coverage as required
