About Us

When people talk about the Flying Doctor, thoughts generally turn to red-bellied planes undertaking rescue missions in the Outback. However, the current Victorian story is one that reflects today's challenges for people living in remote and rural communities across the state. While we do still transport people by air and by road, this work is complemented by a range of primary health services that address the most common issues people living in country Victoria face when accessing health care.

About the Role

The Program Officer plays a vital role in supporting the effective delivery of health and community programs across RFDS Victoria's Operations Centre. This position provides high-quality administrative, operational and data support, ensuring program processes, eligibility requirements and reporting obligations are managed accurately and consistently. Working closely with clinicians, program leaders and operational teams, the role helps maintain efficient service delivery and a positive experience for clients and stakeholders.

- Prepare routine and ad hoc reports to support program monitoring, compliance and performance outcomes.
- Coordinate communication and information flow between clinicians, operational teams and program stakeholders.

- Assist in translating program, funding and operational requirements into clear and practical processes.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, system enhancements and operational projects.
- Support cross-program collaboration and provide operational assistance across the broader Operations team when required.

To be successful, you will need:

- A qualification in health administration, health services, community services or a related field, or equivalent experience in a similar role.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a customer-focused approach.
- High attention to detail and accuracy when managing data, records and documentation.
- Experience preparing reports and maintaining information across multiple systems.
- Confidence using Microsoft Office applications and learning new systems and technologies.
- Sound problem-solving skills with the ability to follow processes and resolve administrative issues.

- Experience working within a health, community services or regulated setting, with an understanding of compliance and governance requirements.
- Satisfactory completion of safety screening including a current Working with Children's Check, National Police Check, and the right to work in Australia.
