Job Description

An established and highly regarded civil contractor is seeking an experienced Preconstruction Manager to lead its front-end project and tendering function.

This is a key leadership position responsible for identifying opportunities, managing the tender pipeline and ensuring projects are properly assessed, priced and planned before transitioning into delivery.

The Role

n

- Lead the preconstruction and tendering function
n
- Manage opportunities from initial review through to contract award
n
- Oversee bid strategy, estimating, programming and tender submissions
n
- Coordinate estimators, engineers, commercial teams and external partners
n
- Lead tender reviews, risk assessments and bid/no-bid decisions
n
- Review construction methodologies, project risks and commercial requirements
n
- Build strong relationships with clients, consultants and industry partners
n
- Identify value-engineering and alternative delivery opportunities
n
- Ensure a structured handover from preconstruction into project delivery
n
- Support the continued growth and development of the business
n

About You

n

n
- Proven experience in a Preconstruction Manager, Bid Manager or senior estimating position
n
- Experience across bulk earthworks, remediation, demolition, roadworks,



utilities or associated infrastructure
n
- Demonstrated experience managing complex tenders from initial opportunity through to award
n
- Strong commercial understanding and ability to identify project risk
n
- Confident leading multidisciplinary tender teams
n
- Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder-management skills
n
- A practical understanding of project delivery and construction methodology
n
- Degree qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or a related discipline is preferred
