AGM Truck and Trailer Repairs - Hallam VIC

AGM Truck and Trailer Repairs is seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our team on a full-time basis at our Hallam, VIC facility. This is a hands-on technical role that plays a crucial part in maintaining and repairing our clients' commercial vehicles and trailers. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for diagnosing, servicing, and repairing diesel-powered trucks, trailers, and related equipment to the highest industry standards. This role is essential to ensuring our clients' vehicles remain roadworthy, secure, and compliant with all regulatory requirements.

What you'll be doing

- Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults in diesel-powered trucks and trailers using diagnostic equipment and technical knowledge
- Perform routine maintenance tasks including oil changes, filter replacements, fluid checks, and belt inspections
- Repair and replace worn or damaged components such as engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension systems, and cooling systems
- Conduct comprehensive vehicle inspections and identify potential issues before they become major problems
- Maintain accurate and detailed service records and work documentation
- Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with workplace health and safety regulations
- Keep up-to-date with the latest diesel engine technology and repair techniques
- Maintain a clean and organised workshop environment

What we're looking for

- Minimum of 3-5 years' experience working as a diesel mechanic, preferably in the truck and trailer repair industry
- Proficiency in using diagnostic equipment and computer-based fault-finding systems
- Strong knowledge of diesel engine systems, hydraulics, electrical systems,



and brake mechanisms
- Valid driver's licence
- Knowledge of Australian vehicle safety and compliance standards
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Physical fitness and ability to work in varied weather conditions and on your feet for extended periods
- Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
- Reliability and commitment to meeting deadlines
- Experience with fleet maintenance or roadside repair work is desirable
