Job Description

Working as part of the Engineering team, you will play a key role in the design, development and improvement of electrical systems across Jayco's product range.

n

You'll work closely with Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing, Design and R&D; teams to develop practical engineering solutions and support projects from initial concept and prototype through to production.

n

The role will also provide hands-on technical support to Manufacturing, helping investigate electrical issues, identify root causes and implement improvements that enhance product quality, safety and manufacturing efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

n

Design, develop and improve electrical systems, components, wiring and associated electrical architecture across Jayco products.

n

Develop practical and innovative engineering solutions suitable for a manufacturing environment.

n

Produce and maintain electrical drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, specifications and technical documentation.

n

Support new model introductions, prototypes, production trials, testing and validation.

n

Provide hands-on engineering support during prototype builds and the implementation of electrical changes.

n

Work closely with Design, R&D; and Manufacturing teams to ensure electrical designs are suitable for manufacture and assembly.

n

Prepare technical specifications and engineering information to support Manufacturing, Planning and Purchasing.

n

Provide technical support to Production and other departments relating to electrical systems, faults and engineering requirements.

n

Investigate recurring electrical and product issues and conduct root cause analysis to identify appropriate corrective actions.

Coordinate the implementation and tracking of product and electrical improvements with relevant stakeholders.

n

Identify opportunities to improve manufacturing processes, product quality, efficiency and safety.

n

Manage multiple engineering projects and priorities while maintaining clear communication with key stakeholders.

n

Maintain accurate engineering and product data relating to electrical components, purchasing and manufacturing requirements.

n

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

n

Tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.

n

Experience in electrical engineering within a manufacturing, automotive, recreational vehicle or similar product-based environment.

n

Sound knowledge of electrical systems, components, wiring, testing and troubleshooting.

n

Robust analytical and problem-solving skills, including root cause analysis and development of practical engineering solutions.

n

An understanding of contemporary manufacturing processes and design for manufacture and assembly principles.

n

Strong project management and organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

n

The ability to communicate effectively with production operators, supervisors, managers and other stakeholders.

n

A hands-on, self-motivated approach with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

n

Proficiency in relevant electrical design, CAD and engineering software, with experience in SolidWorks and AutoCAD highly regarded.

n

Competency with Microsoft Office and relevant engineering documentation systems.

n

Knowledge of relevant Australian electrical standards, regulations and compliance requirements would be highly regarded.
