About Gen Z Trade Group

n

Gen Z Trade Group is a growing trade services business supporting real estate, commercial and private clients across Victoria.

n

Our team operates across electrical, plumbing and general maintenance services, with our head office based in Truganina.

n

We are now bringing our day-to-day HR support in-house and are looking for an experienced HR & Administration Coordinator to establish and manage this newly created position.

n

About the role

n

This is a new and largely standalone role, reporting directly to the Managing Director.

n

You will take ownership of the business's day-to-day HR function while also providing general administrative support where required. As the position is being established from the ground up, you must be confident working independently, identifying what needs to be done and developing practical processes without needing constant direction.

n

This is not an entry-level HR administration position. We are looking for someone with enough practical experience to confidently support management and employees across recruitment, onboarding, performance management and general workplace matters.

n

Experience within a trade services, construction, field service or similar fast-paced operational business would be highly regarded.

n

Key responsibilities

n

n
- Manage recruitment, including job advertisements, candidate screening, reference checks and interview coordination
n
- Prepare employment contracts, variation letters and other employee correspondence
n
- Coordinate employee onboarding, probation reviews and offboarding
n

- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records
n
- Support management with performance management, conduct and attendance matters
n
- Prepare meeting invitations, agendas, notes, warnings and follow‐up correspondence
n
- Provide practical guidance regarding employment conditions, company policies, awards and workplace procedures
n
- Review, update and implement workplace policies and internal processes
n
- Monitor employee licences, qualifications, training and compliance requirements
n
- Assist with leave records, payroll information and employee documentation
n
- Support workplace investigations and coordinate external advice where required
n
- Respond to general employee HR enquiries
n
- Provide administrative assistance directly to the Managing Director
n
- Develop reliable HR systems, templates and processes suitable for a growing trade business
n

n

About you

n

To succeed in this role, you will need:

n

n
- Previous experience in an HR Coordinator, HR Officer, People and Culture or combined HR/Admin position
n
- The ability to work independently and take ownership of the HR function
n
- Practical knowledge of the Fair Work Act, National Employment Standards and modern awards
n
- Confidence handling sensitive employee matters professionally and confidentially
n

- Strong written communication and accurate record‐keeping skills
n
- The confidence to have difficult conversations and provide clear, practical advice
n
- Robust organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
n
- Good judgement, discretion and attention to detail
n
- Confidence using cloud‐based systems and Microsoft Office
n
- Full Australian working rights
n

n

A qualification in Human Resources, Business or a related field is desirable but not essential where the applicant has strong practical experience.

n

Experience working with electricians, plumbers, maintenance technicians, apprentices or other field‐based employees will be highly regarded.

n

Hours and working arrangements

n

This is a permanent part-time position, expected to be approximately 20 to 24 hours per week across three days.

n

There is flexibility around the working days and hours for the right person. The role will operate on a hybrid basis, although regular attendance at our Truganina office will be required, particularly during onboarding, employee meetings and other matters that need to be handled in person.

n

Some flexibility to respond to time‐sensitive employee matters outside scheduled hours would be appreciated.

n

What we offer

n

n
- $40 to $45 per hour plus superannuation, depending on experience
n
- A flexible permanent part‐time arrangement
n
- Hybrid working opportunities
n
- Direct access to the Managing Director
n
- The opportunity to establish and shape a newly created position
n
- A varied role where you can make a genuine impact on the business
n
- A growing company with employees across multiple trade divisions
