C&T; Consulting Engineers (CTCE) is a growing Melbourne based geotechnical engineering consultancy providing practical geotechnical advice across the land development, civil infrastructure and construction sectors. We work across a diverse range of projects including residential and commercial developments, roads, earthworks and other civil infrastructure.

As a boutique consultancy, our engineers are exposed to the full project lifecycle; from planning and undertaking investigations through to engineering assessment, reporting, construction support and working directly with Clients.

Chance

n

We are looking for a Geotechnical Engineer / Engineering Geologist to join our growing team.

n

This is a hands-on role suited to an engineer who enjoys a combination of site work, technical analysis and reporting, and who is keen to progressively take greater responsibility for their own projects.

n

You will work closely with CTCE's Directors and will have the opportunity to develop across both the technical and consulting sides of geotechnical engineering.

n

Key Roles

n

Your role will include:

n

n
- planning and undertaking geotechnical site investigations
n
- soil & rock logging and field testing
n
- site inspections and construction phase geotechnical support
n
- collation and interpretation of field and lab data
n
- preparation of geotechnical reports, technical advice and correspondence
n
- geotechnical assessments for various disciplines, e.g. earthworks, foundations, pavements and civil infrastructure
n
- assisting with project management and coordination
n
- preparation of proposals & fee estimates
n
- liaising with clients, contractors, laboratories and other consultants
n
- assisting with the maintenance of field equipment and project records.

The role will progressively develop depending on your experience, capability and areas of interest.

About you

n

We are looking for someone who is technically capable, reliable and keen to develop their career.

n

Ideally, you will have:

n

n
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Geotechnical Engineering / Engineering Geology or closely related engineering discipline
n
- experience working in geotechnical engineering fields
n
- an understanding of soil & rock logging and geotechnical site investigations (AS1726)
n
- strong written and verbal communication skills
n
- attention to detail and an ability to produce clear, technically sound documentation
n
- a practical approach to problem solving
n
- the ability to work independently while also knowing when to seek guidance
n
- a willingness to undertake regular fieldwork throughout metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria
n
- a current Victorian driver's licence
n
- a Construction Induction Card (White Card), or the ability to obtain one.
n

Experience in land development, earthworks, pavements and / or construction phase geotechnical services would be advantageous but is not essential.
