Job Description

NCC Apparel is looking for a practical and detail-focused Garment Quality Controller to join our team.

n

This is a hands-on role suited to someone with 1-2 years' experience in garment quality, apparel manufacturing, sewing, sample room or a similar garment-related position.

You will be responsible for checking incoming bulk garments, identifying quality issues, preparing simple QC reports and working with our internal teams and overseas factories to resolve any concerns.

Key Responsibilities

- Inspect incoming bulk stock and MTO garments.
n
- Check workmanship, stitching, seams, trims, labels, fabric, shade, embroidery, print and reflective tape.
n
- Check garment measurements against approved specifications and samples.
n
- Identify defects and determine whether garments require repair, further inspection or supplier follow-up.
n
- Prepare QC reports with photos and inspection findings.
n
- Keep simple records of inspections and recurring quality issues.
n
- Email factories and suppliers regarding quality concerns and corrective actions.
n
- Re-check styles with previous quality concerns on future deliveries.
n
- Work closely with our in-house Alterations team regarding repairs and rework.

- Assist with customer quality complaints and new product inspections when required.

About You

n

You will ideally have:

n

n
- 1-2 years' experience in garment QC, sewing, garment manufacturing, sample room or a similar apparel role.
n
- Good understanding of garment sewing, construction and workmanship.
n
- Ability to identify common garment defects.
n
- Basic understanding of garment measurements, patterns and fit.
n
- Ability to read garment specifications and measurement charts.
n
- Good written and verbal English.
n
- Basic computer skills including Excel, Word and email.
n
- Confidence communicating with internal teams and overseas suppliers.
n
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
n
- Experience in workwear, uniforms, hi-vis, FR garments, embroidery, reflective tape or AQL inspection would be an advantage but is not essential.
