The Senior System and Storage Engineer is a challenging role within a national cloud infrastructure organisation. We are seeking a flexible, high-performing professional with a strong technical background and a proven track record of delivering high-quality results in a team environment. We are looking for someone with solid infra exp around data centres inc networks and servers along with DevOps experience.

This is a full time role, Sydney CBD based with a hybrid working environment. The candidate will have a considerable IT technical background with expertise in several of the following focus areas: data centres, infrastructure storage deployment, network services deployment and management, data storage and transmission efficiency analysis, data access interface design, or database design.

- ScoutFS, Weka OR VAST clustered file systems

- Experience with day to day management, policy configuration and interaction with robotic tape libraries

- Ansible or Puppet experience

Key Responsibilities

n

n
- Infrastructure Management: Deploy and manage data centres, storage, and network services
n
- Performance Analysis: Optimise data storage, transmission efficiency, and access interfaces
n
- System Support: Maintain a secure, large-scale, high-performance, and multi-protocol robust service
n
- Administration of storage, compute and cloud infrastructure
n




- Perform day-to-day maintenance and administration of multi-petabyte storage systems consisting of disk and tape
n
- Participate in capacity planning and usage trending
n
- Implement and manage storage technologies such as auto-tiering, data replication
n
- Maintain system and storage best practices and storage life-cycle management
n
- Administer system and storage virtualisation layers and integration with co-located HPC, cloud and container infrastructure
n
- Perform day-to-day troubleshooting of system and storage related issues, performance issues
n
- Ensure robustness, security and scalability of systems and storage, and related infrastructure
n

Key Requirements

n

n
- Tertiary qualifi cations or relevant experience in Computer Science (or other relevant IT field)
n
- Ability to utilise AI tools in a responsible and effi cient manner to augment capability
n
- Strong experience in system and storage technologies, from the storage medium through to systems interconnection up to the application layer
n
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools, notably Zabbix, Prometheus and Grafana
n
- Ability to administer and confi gure a range of operating systems, with a focus on Linux, and services including Networking; Web Servers, Relational Databases;
n
- Solid experience with Linux HA and cluster concepts;
n
- In-depth knowledge and demonstrated work experience in enterprise grade, multi-tiered (disk and tape) and multi vendor storage systems
