Glencore Metals Australia are seeking a new team member to join the team, as a principal – Structural Integrity. This position has the flexibility to be offered on a residential or FIFO arrangement.

n

About the role:
n Glencore Metals Australia is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to consolidate our Structural remediation programs across Glencore Metals Australia including Mount Isa, Townsville, Murrin Murrin and McArthur River Mine.

n

You will lead technical assessments, remediation planning and project delivery to ensure structural integrity and regulatory compliance across multiple operating sites.

n

Key responsibilities

n

n
- Coordinate the Structural Remediation Program end-to-end across Mount Isa, Townsville, Murrin Murrin and McArthur River.
n
- Lead structural condition assessments, inspections and risk evaluations for plant, buildings and infrastructure.
n
- Develop remediation scopes, engineering designs, specifications and cost estimates.
n
- Prioritise remediation activities based on risk, safety, operational impact and budget.
n
- Manage contractors and third-party specialists (tendering, scopes, quality assurance, HSE compliance).
n
- Provide technical support to operations and maintenance teams to implement remedial works.
n
- Prepare technical reports, inspection records,



design calculations and asset registers.
n
- Ensure works comply with relevant Australian standards, legislation and Glencore policies.
n
- Monitor program schedule, budget and performance; report progress to stakeholders.
n
- Support continuous improvement, asset lifecycle planning and risk mitigation initiatives.
n

About you

n

n
- A degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent). Chartered status or working towards registration highly regarded.
n
- Minimum 5 years' experience in structural engineering, inspections and remediation in heavy industry, mining or processing environments.
n
- Proven experience managing multi-site programs and delivering contractor-led remediation works.
n
- Strong knowledge of Australian structural codes and standards (AS/NZS), welding and materials degradation mechanisms.
n
- Excellent project management, stakeholder engagement and contractor management skills.
n
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
n
- Current driver's licence and ability to obtain site-specific certifications and permits
n
- Willingness to travel frequently and work versatile in office hours when required.
