S&R; Engineering and Construction – Bendigo VIC

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working around vehicles, machinery and equipment and takes pride in keeping things clean, organised and ready for work. Reporting directly to the Yard Manager, you will assist with the day-to-day operation of the yard and support the preparation, movement and presentation of plant and equipment across construction projects.

Key responsibilities

- Washing, cleaning and detailing mobile plant, vehicles and equipment
- Preparing plant and equipment for mobilisation to construction sites
- Assisting with loading and unloading trucks
- Moving vehicles and equipment around the yard
- Refuelling plant and equipment
- Collecting parts, consumables and supplies as required
- Assisting with incoming and outgoing plant and equipment
- Completing basic plant pre-start and condition checks
- Maintaining a clean, safe and organised yard
- Assisting with basic repairs and maintenance of small motors and equipment

About you

We are looking for someone who is:

- Reliable, punctual and willing to work
- Comfortable working outdoors and in a hands-on workplace
- Able to work independently once shown what is required
- Organised and able to take pride in the presentation of plant and vehicles
- Safety conscious
- Willing to learn and take on additional responsibility over time
- Interested in construction plant, vehicles, machinery or mechanical work





Previous experience is not essential, however experience in any of the following would be advantageous:

- Yard or stores work
- Vehicle washing or detailing
- Small motor repairs or maintenance
- Working around mobile plant and machinery
- Forklifts or telehandlers
- Current White Card
- Ability to carry out physical and manual tasks associated with yard work
- Reliable transport to and from our Bendigo yard

Highly Regarded

- Plant or machinery tickets
- Previous civil construction or yard experience
- Mechanical aptitude or small motor experience

What We Offer

This is a full-time ongoing position with an hourly rate of $30 to $35 per hour, depending on experience, skills and relevant tickets.

For the right person, the role provides an opportunity to develop practical experience across plant, vehicles, machinery and civil construction while progressing within S&R;'s Plant & Asset Department.
