Job Description
As a Rostering Support Officer with After Hours On Call Australia, your focus will be ensuring the timely delivery of sustainable, person-centred supports to our partner organisations.
n
Working during the critical early-morning period, you will respond to inbound calls, manage roster changes, assist with unplanned absences and workforce gaps, and ensure clients and stakeholders are kept informed.
n
This role requires someone who can remain calm under pressure, think practically, make confident decisions and find solutions when circumstances change at short notice.
n
Key responsibilities
n
Maintain and update employee rosters, ensuring changes are communicated effectively to clients, employees and relevant stakeholders.
n
Update rostering systems to reflect approved changes, short-notice leave, employee availability and shift allocations.
n
Monitor staffing levels and identify roster gaps or potential workforce shortages.
n
Allocate shifts to appropriately skilled, qualified and available employees.
n
Source replacement staff for planned and unplanned absences.
n
Liaise with employees regarding shift availability, roster changes and shift confirmations.
n
Respond promptly and professionally to roster-related enquiries from employees, clients and stakeholders.
n
Maintain accurate and up-to-date on-call logs, including actions taken and outcomes.
n
Prepare and maintain and send morning call-log reports as required.
n
Ensure rostering decisions are consistent with the SCHADS awards, enterprise agreements, legislation and organisational policies.
n
Work collaboratively and creatively to resolve staffing issues while maintaining continuity and quality of support.
n
About you
n
We are looking for someone who is organised, confident and solutions-focused, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-moving environment.
n
You will ideally have:
n
Previous experience in rostering,
workforce coordination, disability services, community services or a similar role.
n
Knowledge of NDIS requirements relating to the delivery of supports, participant safety and risk.
n
A strong understanding of the SCHADS Award and the ability to interpret relevant award provisions.
n
Robust rostering and workforce coordination skills, including the ability to think outside the box when resolving staffing gaps.
n
Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.
n
Confidence communicating with employees, clients and organisational stakeholders.
n
Strong attention to detail and accurate record-keeping skills.
n
Confidence using rostering systems and other workplace technology.
n
The ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure.
n
A proactive approach to problem-solving and the confidence to implement practical solutions.
n
A commitment to positive outcomes for clients, employees and partner organisations.
n

The successful applicant will be required to hold, or be eligible to obtain, relevant screening and compliance checks, including:

NDIS Worker Screening Check

Working with Children Check
n
National Police Check
n
Any additional state-based checks required for the role
n
Hours: 5:00 am – 9:00 am, Monday to Friday. We need someone available across all 5 days.
