Are you an experienced safety professional who enjoys being close to the operation and making a genuine impact on safety culture?

We are partnering with a large, well-established organisation seeking an experienced Safety Lead to support a major distribution operation in Melbourne’s western suburbs .

This is a hands‑on role combining strategic safety leadership with practical operational support. You’ll work closely with leaders and frontline teams to manage risk, strengthen safety capability and continue building a proactive safety culture across a fast-paced 24/7 environment.

The Role

Reporting to the Head of Safety, you’ll be a key safety partner to the operation with responsibilities including:

- Partner with operational leaders to deliver H&S; strategy, priorities and safety initiatives that drive continuous improvement.
- Provide hands‑on support across incident and hazard management, risk assessments, contractor management, emergency management and safe work practices .
- Lead and support incident investigations , analyse safety trends and provide practical insights and recommendations to management.
- Provide H&S; advice, coaching and training , helping leaders and frontline teams build capability and greater ownership of safety.
- Drive consultation,



compliance and continuous improvement , including safety communications, audits, training requirements and regulatory matters.

About You

We’re looking for a practical and engaging safety professional who is comfortable working with senior leaders while remaining visible and connected to frontline operations.

You will ideally bring:

- A relevant Work Health & Safety qualification and at least 3 years’ experience in a WHS role .
- Experience within warehousing, distribution, manufacturing or a similar operational environment .
- Strong knowledge of WHS legislation, Codes of Practice and relevant Australian or industry standards .
- Hands‑on experience with incident investigations, risk assessments, plant and equipment safety and Safe Work Practice training .
- Strong communication, stakeholder engagement and influencing skills , with a pragmatic and commercially aware approach to safety.
