A leading Australian provider of water, wastewater and pumping infrastructure solutions is seeking a Design Engineer to join its growing Pre-Construction team.

The business partners with councils, water authorities, developers and civil contractors to deliver pump stations, sewer infrastructure, stormwater systems and critical utility projects across Australia.

With a reputation for delivering practical, engineered solutions and supporting projects from concept through to construction, the business continues to expand its presence throughout the water infrastructure sector.

The Position

n

Reporting to the Design Manager, the Design Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring designs are practical, compliant and construction-ready.

n

Acting as the bridge between engineering, drafting, clients and Water Authorities, you will review designs for constructability, coordinate drawing delivery and support the approvals process.

n

This position focuses on identifying issues early, reducing risk and ensuring projects move efficiently through pre-construction into delivery.

Key Responsibilities

n

- Review concept and detailed designs for accuracy and completeness
n
- Undertake constructability assessments and provide practical design feedback
n
- Cross-check designs against Water Authority requirements and standards
n
- Support client submissions and authority approvals
n
- Identify design risks early and implement practical solutions
n
- Work closely with drafting teams to coordinate drawing delivery and review cycles
n




- Assist with technical client communications and design queries
n
- Ensure engineering and drafting standards are maintained and updated
n
- Support successful handover of projects into construction
n

About You

You are an experienced engineer who understands both design and construction and can identify practical issues before they become costly site problems.

n

You enjoy working collaboratively across engineering, drafting, client and authority stakeholders and thrive in environments where technical quality and project outcomes are equally key.

Skills & Experience

n

n
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Mechanical Engineering (essential)
n
- Strong background in water, wastewater or civil infrastructure projects
n
- Sound understanding of constructability, design review and project delivery
n
- Experience working with Water Authority standards, requirements and approval processes
n
- Ability to identify and mitigate design risks
n
- Strong technical, communication and stakeholder management skills
n
- High attention to detail and a methodical approach to design reviews
n
- Ability to coordinate across multiple disciplines and project stakeholders
n
