Engineering Dynamics Consultants (EDC) is a Perth-based engineering consultancy specialising in structural dynamics, vibration, stress and fatigue analysis. We deliver engineering solutions to the mining, offshore, industrial, rail and marine sectors across Australia and internationally.

An prospect exists for an experienced and practical Structural Designer to join our Design & Drafting (D&D;) team.

n

The position:

n

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing practical, fabrication-ready structural design solutions, predominantly for brownfields mining projects. Key responsibilities include:

n

- Developing brownfields structural design solutions suitable for fabrication and installation, predominantly within the mining sector.
n
- Working closely with EDC engineers to ensure technical performance of final design.
n
- Providing input to develop practical and constructible design solutions.
n
- Preparing engineering drawings, mark‐up plans, material take‐offs (MTOs) and, where required, fabrication/shop drawings.
n
- Contribute to the development, implementation and improvement of D&D; systems and processes
n
- Liaise with the D&D; Team Lead to report progress,



areas of concern and potential improvements

Skills, Qualifications, and Experience:

n

n
- Relevant experience with an engineering contracting or consultancy in the mining, oil and gas or similar industries.
n
- Advanced proficiency in Advance Steel.
n
- Demonstrated structural design experience, beyond drafting and detailing alone.
n
- Self‐driven and motivated, with the ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities.
n
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
n

Desirable, but not essential:

n

n
- Experience with major mining clients and their drawing requirements, including CAD conformance.
n
- Experience with 3D laser scanning and processing point‐cloud data.
n
- Experience with SolidWorks, Inventor, Navisworks and/or AutoCAD.
n
- General exposure to resource industry projects, equipment and assets.
n
