We are seeking an experienced full time Chef to join our kitchen team at TÁVOLA Restaurant in Bentleigh, Melbourne. The successful applicant will be responsible for the preparation, cooking, and presentation of Italian dishes, ensuring consistency, quality, and compliance with food safety standards. The role involves working as part of a professional kitchen team during lunch and dinner service and contributing to the efficient day-to-day operation of the kitchen.

Key Responsibilities

n

Preparing and cooking food in accordance with menu requirements and established standards Assisting with menu planning and contributing to menu development as required

n

Estimating food requirements and assisting with ordering and stock control Monitoring the quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation Demonstrating cooking techniques and advising on preparation and cooking procedures

n

Ensuring food safety, hygiene, and workplace safety regulations are followed and enforced Communicating with management, kitchen staff,



and front-of-house staff regarding food preparation and service requirements Assisting with training and supporting junior kitchen staff as required

Eligibility and Experience

n

Ensuring correct storage, preservation, and handling of food, including freezing where applicable Skills and experience Relevant Diploma qualification in commercial cookery or a related field

n

Previous experience working as a Chef in a commercial kitchen environment Good understanding of food preparation techniques and kitchen operations Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment

n

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality Reliable, organised, and able to work well within a team Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards

Employment Details

n

Full-time position (38 hours per week) Salary between $ 80,000 and $ 85,000

n

Rotating roster across lunch and dinner service, including weekends and public holidays Australian citizens and permanent residents are encouraged to apply.
