Our client is a highly secure, regulated organisation that builds custom software, helping organisations in the banking and finance space with their event driven architectures and AML capabilities. They are looking for a Senior Python Developer to be their foundational internal engineering hire.

This is a strictly hands-on engineering role. You will be the technical anchor for the platform writing high-quality production code and establishing engineering patterns for an outsourced development team.

The Role

- Take technical ownership of a critical digital platform, designing and building distributed systems.
- Translate complex requirements into secure, buildable technical solutions.
- Design and implement event-driven, asynchronous, and API-based workflows.
- Actively write, test, and deliver production software.
- Troubleshoot complex application, integration,



and distributed-system issues.
- Review code from external partners and challenge implementation approaches to ensure quality and security.

Technical Requirements

- Strong, current hands-on development experience with Python and Django .
- Expertise in asynchronous systems .
- Practical experience with RabbitMQ or similar messaging platforms.
- A strong understanding of distributed systems and their failure modes
- Demonstrated experience integrating Application Security by design, including OAuth, up-to-date identity patterns, and secure handling of sensitive data.
- Strong experience with PostgreSQL or comparable relational databases.
