PERMANENT | HANDS-ON | LEADERSHIP ROLE

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Electrical Leading Hand to join our maintenance team at our Lilydale site.

n

This is a permanent, hands-on role involving site maintenance, electrical fault finding, repairs and the day-to-day maintenance of plant and equipment, while also leading and supporting a small maintenance team.

n

ABOUT THE ROLE

n

The Electrical Leading Hand will assist with the day-to-day management of the maintenance team, ensuring work is planned, resourced and completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

n

You will provide technical support to tradespeople, coordinate preventative maintenance, respond to machinery breakdowns, support maintenance shutdowns and help drive a culture of safety, reliability and continuous improvement across the site.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

n

- Lead and support a small maintenance team.
n
- Assist with planning and resourcing preventative maintenance and maintenance shutdowns.
n
- Carry out electrical maintenance, fault finding and repairs.
n
- Respond to machinery breakdowns and coordinate the required maintenance personnel.
n
- Investigate equipment faults and identify root causes.
n
- Provide on-site technical assistance to ensure work progresses as planned.
n
- Set clear expectations around quality, job duration and performance.
n
- Provide feedback and guidance to tradespeople.
n
- Identify equipment reliability issues and implement corrective actions.
n
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping across the workshop and job sites.
n
- Document breakdowns, root causes and remedial actions to help prevent recurring issues.
n




- Organise and coordinate programmed maintenance and running checks.
n
- Monitor maintenance activities and ensure work is completed within required timeframes.
n
- Promote continuous improvement throughout the maintenance team.
n
- Maintain a safe working environment in accordance with Nexans Occupational Health & Safety policies and procedures.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

n

n
- A-Grade Electrical Licence.
n
- Minimum 7 years of electrical trade experience.
n
- Strong technical experience in motor control.
n
- Demonstrated PLC fault-finding skills.
n
- Previous experience leading and supervising a team.
n
- Strong maintenance and equipment reliability knowledge.
n
- Additional equipment tickets and licences are desirable.
n

REMUNERATION

n

- Base salary of approximately $100,000
n
- Total earnings of up to approximately $157,000, including overtime, shift penalties and allowances.
