Tactical Tradie is a leading education and coaching business helping tradies build thriving businesses — plumbers, sparkies, roofers, and air conditioning, HVAC and refrigeration specialists among them. We help tradies build profitable businesses so they can have both the income and the lifestyle they want for their families.

Founder Tom grew his own plumbing business in Melbourne to over 60 staff in five years, and built Tactical Tradie to hand that playbook to other tradies. Four years on, we're a full time team of five based in a beautiful office in Minyama on the Sunshine Coast, backed by around ten contractors — coaches, our virtual CFO, VAs and sales closers among them. We run live coaching, member events across the country, and a growing online community — and we're scaling fast.

What You'll Be Doing

The Coaching

n

n
- Carry a portfolio of members and coach them through financial mastery — pricing, margins, cash flow,



wages and genuine profitability
n
- Run one-on-one and group sessions that turn a spreadsheet full of numbers into decisions a tradie can actually act on
n
- Help members build (or finally trust) a simple set of financial systems and reporting they'll keep using long after the session ends
n
- Set members up with real targets — profit, cash reserves, owner's pay — and hold them to getting there
n
- Stay genuinely available to your members between sessions, not just on the call
n
- Attend and help run our live member events around Australia, a few times a year
n

The Business

- Monitor member financial progress and engagement, and work with our Client Success function to help members win
n
- Spot where members are consistently getting tripped up financially, and help the team build a better fix
n
- Contribute to the tools, templates and resources that make the numbers side of coaching easier for every member
n

Who You Are

n

This is a role for someone who's genuinely comfortable in the numbers, not just aware of them:

n

n
- You've got a real financial or accounting background — an accountant, a bookkeeper, a financial controller, or a CFO type. You don't need to have run your own business to be brilliant at this
n
- You can read a P&L; and cash flow position quickly, and know the difference between a business that looks fine and one that actually is
n
- You've explained financial concepts to people who aren't financially trained,



and you know how to make it click rather than switch them off

A few other things that'll set you apart:

- You're genuinely tech-savvy, and properly comfortable in reporting platforms like Fathom and Spotlight — this role lives in that kind of software, not just spreadsheets
n
- You are also aware how AI can be leveraged in this space like Claude and Chat GBT
n
- You care as much about a member actually using the numbers as you do about the numbers being right
n
- You can have a direct conversation about where someone's business is bleeding money, without it feeling like an attack
n
- You chase your own development because you enjoy getting better, not because someone's asking you to
n

We'll be upfront: this one probably won't suit you if you'd rather build the report than talk someone through it, if you find it hard to simplify without dumbing down, or if you're more comfortable behind a desk than in a room with a tradie who wants a straight answer.
