An established Melbourne building surveying consultancy is seeking a degree-qualified Cadet Building Surveyor to join its residential team.
You will support the assessment and approval of residential building projects while developing practical knowledge of Victorian building legislation, the NCC and the building permit process.
This role is only suitable for candidates who have completed a Bachelor’s degree in Building Surveying. Diploma-only qualifications will not be considered.

About the Role

An established Melbourne building surveying consultancy is seeking a degree-qualified Cadet Building Surveyor to join its residential team.
You will support the assessment and approval of residential building projects while developing practical knowledge of Victorian building legislation, the NCC and the building permit process.

Duties

- Review residential plans and building permit documentation
- Assist with assessing applications against the NCC and Victorian legislation




- Identify missing information and prepare requests for further documentation
- Liaise with builders, designers, clients and consultants
- Assist with preparing building permits and approval documentation
- Maintain accurate project files and application records
- Support projects from initial application through to completion
- Develop your technical knowledge under senior guidance

About You

- Completed Bachelor’s degree in Building Surveying – essential
- Diploma-only qualifications will not be considered
- Able to confidently read and interpret residential building plans
- Clear and professional spoken and written English
- Confident communicating with builders, clients and consultants
- Understanding of the NCC and Victorian building legislation
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Eager to learn and progress toward registration
- Australian working rights
