Help develop the technology behind connected water solutions, working across IoT, firmware, cloud platforms and physical devices.

GWA creates innovative water solutions through brands including Caroma, Methven, Clark and Dorf.

About the role

n

Join GWA's Platform and IoT team and help develop the technology supporting our Smart Command platform.

n

You'll work across two gateway environments: the CT-200 gateway used in standard office deployments and the Raspberry Pi-based gateway.

n

You'll initially focus on knowledge transfer from our current development partner before taking greater ownership of firmware development, security and ongoing support.

n

What you'll be doing

n

n
- Develop and support Azure IoT solutions across connected devices, gateways and cloud platforms
n
- Work with CT-200 and Raspberry Pi-based gateway platforms
n
- Improve gateway firmware, performance and security
n
- Test firmware, connected devices and recent Smart Command fixturesSupport existing CT-200 customers with bug fixes and compatibility updates
n
- Contribute to future gateway development and replacement
n
- Work with internal teams and external technology partners

- Help build GWA's in-house IoT capability
n

About you

n

You'll bring:

n

n
- At least three years' software or IoT development experience
n
- Experience with connected devices, firmware and device-based technology
n
- Exposure to Azure IoT or a similar cloud IoT platform
n
- Experience with Raspberry Pi or comparable gateway hardware
n
- Knowledge of IoT sensors, Bluetooth or related protocols
n
- Experience testing software, firmware or connected devices
n
- The ability to work across project delivery and ongoing technical support
n

Desirable experience

n

n
- Embedded Linux, including Yocto-based platforms
n
- Docker or other containerised applications
n
- MQTT and AMQP messaging protocols
n
- OTA software update mechanisms
n

n

Location

This role is based at GWA's Prestons site, providing access to the devices, gateways and testing environment required for hands-on development.
