About the role

n

We are looking for an experienced Garment Technician to join our Head Office team in South Yarra, working across our knitwear and cut-and-sew categories.

n

Working closely with our Senior Designer and Design Assistant, this is a hands‐on technical role responsible for ensuring our garments meet CALIBRE's standards across fit, construction, quality and performance.

n

Knitwear is at the heart of this role. We are looking for someone with a genuine technical understanding of how knitwear is made, including yarn behaviour, stitch construction, garment finishing and fabric performance across wash and wear.

n

The category moves quickly, so you will need to be technically confident, highly organised and comfortable managing priorities in a fast‐paced environment without compromising on quality.

You will:

n

Own the technical garment process from development through to bulk approval

n

Create and maintain accurate garment specifications and technical documentation

n

Conduct fittings and provide explicit, commercially considered fit and construction comments

n

Review and assess samples for fit, measurements, construction and overall quality

n

Assess knitwear construction, yarn behaviour,



stitch quality and garment finishing

n

Monitor garment and fabric performance across wash and wear

n

Identify technical and quality issues and provide solutions throughout the development process

n

Manage sample assessment, quality sign‐off and bulk approval

n

Work closely with the Senior Designer and Design Assistant to achieve the intended design, fit and quality

n

Communicate clear technical requirements and feedback to suppliers

n

Maintain accurate records and ensure technical work is completed within critical timelines

n

Take ownership of quality standards across your categories from development through to production

n

You are:

n

An experienced Garment Technician with knitwear experience

n

Confident in knitwear construction, yarns, stitches, finishing and garment performance

n

Experienced in garment specifications, fittings, sample assessment and quality control

n

Highly detail‐oriented with a strong understanding of garment construction

n

Comfortable making technical decisions and taking ownership of product quality

n

Highly organised and able to manage multiple styles and deadlines at once

n

Able to work quickly and accurately without compromising standards

n

Proactive, solutions‐focused and confident working independently

n

A strong communicator who can work collaboratively with designers and suppliers

n

Passionate about producing premium, high‐quality product

n

Previous menswear experience will be highly regarded, particularly within premium or designer fashion.
