The Position
Onyx Blinds Screens Shutters are seeking a full-time, highly motivated and enthusiastic skilled person with experience in glass installation and glazing. The position joins the growing team in a permanent, full time capacity and will report directly to the Business and Operations Manager.
A company vehicle and necessary tools required will be provided as part of this position.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Onsite installations, primarily in residential environment of various products including but not limited to:
- Framed, semi frameless and frameless shower screens including glazing hardware and caulking
- Made to measure glass products
- Wardrobe sliding doors and internal wardrobe shelving
- Commercial glazed internal office partitions
- Internal glazed fixed windows
- Glass splashbacks
- Removal of existing glass products from time to time
- Carefully and safely load, transport and handle all glass products
- Site measuring, plan interpretation and confirming measurements prior to manufacture and installation
- Cutting and handling glass and various metals
- Fabrication of shower screen panels
- Supplier stock pick up or deliveries as required
- Responsible for keeping company vehicle, tools and equipment clean and in good working order
- Operate all company machinery in a safe manner in accordance with all state and national legislative requirements
- Comply with all workplace health and safety procedures.
- Maintaining an excellent rapport with clients and suppliers at all times
Skills and experience:
To be successful for this position, the applicant must:
- Have at least 5 years’ experience in the field of glass installation and glazing in a similar role
- Experience in the building and construction industry
- Have a current driver’s licence and excellent driving record
- Have an approved and current Victoria Construction White Card.
- Have permanent work rights with no restrictions in Australia
- Be well presented and spoken
- Be able to problem solve, work independently and unsupervised
- Take the upmost pride in delivery and workmanship of our products and service

- Be open to undertaking further installation training on other Onyx products and services
- Have excellent time management and organisation skills
